MCP Client Web App

A simple Python web application using FastAPI to connect to an MCP server, display status, and list available tools.

Requirements

  • Python 3.13 or higher
  • A virtual environment (recommended)
  • MCP client dependencies (see requirements.txt)

Installation

  1. Create and activate a virtual environment:
python3 -m venv .venv
source .venv/bin/activate
  1. Install dependencies:
pip install -r requirements.txt

Running the App

Start the FastAPI server using Uvicorn:

uvicorn app:app --reload

Open your browser and navigate to http://127.0.0.1:8000

Usage

  1. In the web interface, enter the MCP server JSON block (e.g., Puppeteer):

  1. Click Connect.
  2. View the connection status and the list of available tools supported by the server.
