This is a Next.js project bootstrapped with create-next-app.

Getting Started

First, run the development server:

npm run dev
# or
yarn dev
# or
pnpm dev
# or
bun dev

Open http://localhost:3000 with your browser to see the result.

You can start editing the page by modifying app/page.tsx. The page auto-updates as you edit the file.

This project uses next/font to automatically optimize and load Geist, a new font family for Vercel.

GitHub Repository Sync

This project includes a script (sync.py) that:

1. Fetches README files from GitHub repositories
2. Uses OpenAI to generate 20-word and 50-word summaries
3. Uploads the data to Algolia for search functionality

Setup for Sync Script

1. Create a .env file based on .env.example:

   cp .env.example .env
   

2. Fill in your API keys in the .env file:

   ALGOLIA_APP_ID=your_app_id
   ALGOLIA_ADMIN_API_KEY=your_admin_api_key
   ALGOLIA_INDEX_NAME=github_repos
   OPENAI_API_KEY=your_openai_api_key
   GITHUB_TOKEN=your_github_token  # Optional but recommended
   

3. Set up a Python virtual environment and install dependencies:

   python3 -m venv venv
   source venv/bin/activate
   pip install -r requirements.txt
   

4. Run the sync script:

   python sync.py
